A good place to look for restaurants is in the small streets just north of Wusong River. Another place is Hankou Lu, just north of the Park Hotel.

50 Hankou Road Bar and Restaurant
Generally recommended. Serves neoclassical continatal cuisine in a very unique ambience.

Fortuna Seafood Restaurant

Seafood is famous in Shanghai, so don't miss it.

Forum Palace Seafood Restaurant

The largest aquarium at Shanghai is to be seen there.

Fu Lin Xuan Restaurant

Great place to sample Dim Sum.

Meiqi Restaurant

A place to go for Hot Pot.

Lulu Restaurant

A real Chinese restaurant where you even have to order in Chinese (well, you could just point out the most beautiful characters).

Jurassic Pub

Features a Tepanaki grill. It also has a good bar

Ch Euro's

Germans might prefer here where serves German dishes. There are many special events.

Red Rhino

The small, but nice restuarant is a French-style bistro, serving both, French and Chinese dishes.

Ay Caramba

Look here for authentic Mexican snacks and decor.

Badlands

The Viva Elpopo
12, Lane 19. Gubel New Area.
Both are Mexican restaurants that are inexpensive.

Tony Roma's
Shanghai Center at 1376 Nanjing Xi Lu.
An American Restaurant specializing in spare ribs.

Hard Rock Cafe
Shanghai Center Retail Plaza, 1376 Nanjing Xi Lu.
Of course there is also one in Shanghai. It serves dinner until 10 pm. There is also a bar and a disco.
